Funky big pharma don’t want us to have a cure to this problem they want us going back every 3 months for decades after decades so they can make trillions apon trillions.
These are the kind of conspiratorial comments I was referring to. I don’t like the pharmaceutical industry. Probably in second place after the tobacco industry on the list of cuntiness. Because yeah - there’s some sense to what Brother Funk is saying. Whether it’s about COVID, whether it’s about cancer, whether it’s AIDS or malaria - pharmaceutical companies exist to maximise their profits, because - ya know, capitalism.
It’s the idea that they would intentionally draw out finding a permanent and comprehensive treatment to solve the collective world’s COVID challenge that I can’t get behind. Pharma companies are not deciding not to cure cancer - they just can’t fucking do it. There’s an arms race between most pharma companies to try and solve cancer prevention and treatment, because they all know the first to do it are gonna make more coin than they ever believed possible.
