It makes little sense, they should be letting Omicron take over. They seem to be wilfully sticking their fingers in their ears regarding the evidence on Omicron to keep this nonsense going.

hugopal yeah it’s beginning to feel like omicron is some click baity scaremongering by the media. At the same time, after seeing what happened in India this April, I think it’s better to be safe than sorry. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t scenario for the politicians.

Mask mandates across the board reinstituted for all nine Bay Area Counties. This should be a rough few weeks but we’ll get through it. The vaccines are holding up very well but the positive cases are through the fucking roof. We might top 1,000 a day just in San Francisco.

Get a load of Captain Hindsight here - who only a couple of weeks ago was still was happy to allow further restrictions, including the closing of nightclubs, “to avoid” the so-called “worst case scenario” - which was always a million miles off being a reality.
