heās missed the point completely, as always. the concern with this variant isnāt a high death rate, more that itāll knock out a good chunk of the workforce (where healthcare workers are of particular concern) because of how quickly it spreads. people may not be ending up in hospital, icu, or dead as often, but due to the number of cases, itāll still overwhelm hospitals with staff shortages (because people are still sick/symptomatic).
