Just got off our call with UCSF. Fourty-four patients in UCSF hospitals with Covid. Thirteen because of Covid, Thirty-one were admitted for other reasons and then tested positive in the hospital. Of the thirteen, seven are unvaccinated, six are immunocompromised. The vast majority of those showing up the the hospital, but not admitted, are unvaccinated. All with breathing issues. The vaccines are holding up.
Crossed over 1,000 positives a day for the first time ever. But projections say we might’ve peaked with a steady decline over the next seven to ten days.
Literal quote, “we need to pivot to learning to live with Covid.” And that a positive case is not the same as it was a year ago for the vaccinated. We’ll be dialing back testing for them in the near future.
