C_J Just our waves came a lot later than it did in the West. Also, Nov 2020 - March 2021 we thought we had beaten it while it ravaged the rest of the world, and at the time many hypothesised it was our immune systems.
Of course, Delta came and kicked India up the ass for a good three four months.
But now again, we didn’t even have a booster program in place until mid January when this Omicron wave hit, and even with most folks 9-10 months into their second jab, the death rates are mostly negligible.
