NasserAlazzawi As I said before, the projection of 5 million dead if they abandon zero-COVID has been driving policy. It has been highly successful up until now.
Despite what Hugo said about these projections, this seems realistic. Imagine letting it rip now on a population that has no immunity? The US has 1 million dead with around 1/5th of China’s population. *Whether those died of COVID or with COVID is a different debate.
The Sinovac and Sinopharm vaccinations are less effective than Pfizer and Moderna, (sorry, Zack, ModeRNA), but I don’t think that’s what’s driving policy so much as the thought of that many dead bodies.
