My parents both have it now, both in their late 70s, but thrice vacced, and seem to be on the mend already.
The General Covid19 Thread
Good to hear they’re on the mend H.
Hope all is well Mono.
My 82 yr old dad had Covid a couple of weeks ago.Fully vaxxed, felt rough for a few days but generally ok. Didn’t feel the need to tell any of his 3 kids until after he tested negative..FFS.

Jules72 but this series of lockdowns will hardly be boosting his popularity or reducing the chances of popular discontent
I don’t know what the general sentiment is like in China, or what the demographic of Xi’s support base is, but in UK and Germany there were plenty of numbskulls seemingly in favour of even harsher ongoing lockdowns.
Also, popular discontent is kind of irrelevant when it’s literally impossible to protest against something because you’re locked up and mass gatherings are prohibited.
Finally got the dreaded double lines here in TBD towers. Presumably caught it on the way over to Mallorca. Obviosuly I am nails for cycling 150+ miles over the weekend whilst brewing it.
Nasal swab was just about positive. Throat swab was properly positive.
I feel fine. Bit of a sore throat. Not much else
All the George Bens.
Hope you’re bang at it quick sharp.

That’s a long ride! Coast to coast?
Hope it goes easy on you.
Pay attention when you do feel better; some people prolonged their recovery period by trying to get back into the saddle [in whatever fitness regime they partake] - so for the sake of a faster recovery don’t be afraid of dialing it way back to shorter routes, walking etc. I’m finding the ‘doers’ and the ‘itchy bums’ have a tough time not being so active for a month or so. Same with work load and any stress.
The goal is to avoid long covid. It’s a really weird one.
Same goes for @mono-stereo @Homegrove you are ordered to chill the fuck.
I ran every day through Covid but then I am a different animal tbf.

Another “benefit” of lockdowns with longer-term ramifications, rising obesity levels; including a c. 5 percentage point increase in the proportion of obese and severely obese early years school children:
And what’s one of the principal causes of deaths from covid? Yeah that’s right, obesity.

benson What was helpful for me was CBD oil drops under the tongue every 6 hours. Aside from feeling generally better, the theory was that it’s Anti inflammatory properties meant that if inflammation in the lungs was to become an issue it would be held back.
The worst of it for me was the sheer tiredness/fatigue (lasted 2-3 weeks) and the sore throat up to my ears was like burning from time to time.
Bens, sending some Nugenix to you chief, you’ll be fit and firing in no time.

So it took the WHO’s excess death report to finally put to rest the lie that the UK had the worst covid death stats. Broadly in line with many other countries and not quite as bad as Germany. Seems like most other countries were instead significantly underreporting theirs. So much of what we were told at the time turns out to be bullshit. As for Sweden..
