My dad spent fifteen years working in quality assurance control for Pfizer, and is also in the ultra high risk category, being over 75, and suffering from a serious respiratory condition (COPD). Asked him if, based on his knowledge and experience, he’d happily take one of these quickly released vaccines, and whether he has a preference based on where and by whom it was developed. His view is that as long as it’s MHRA approved, he’d accept any of them, and for him - the sooner the better.
I can’t pretend to understand the intricacies of whether or why vaccines do or don’t have long term health implications. My dad’s view though is that the fundamental design and development of vaccines has changed massively in the past 20-30 years, to the point where the vaccines developers can design side effects out of the vaccines during development.
