A Moderna vaccine batch is having some side-effect issues over this way. Allergic reactions requiring medical care. Nothing here in San Francisco but down south in San Diego. Distribution might be on pause for some parts of the State, certainly for the Lot 041L20A batch.

EDIT and I should say I’m fine now. Saturday was rough. Fell asleep at 7:00 PM and slept for 14 hours. Was out of it yesterday but that might be because I’m used to 4-5 hours not four-fucking-teen. Couldn’t raise my arm too high but good to go otherwise.

Yup I’m good. Helps that it’s a 24/75 (C/F) degree day with not a cloud in the sky to get out and about (also a holiday this way). A bit wary of my next jab as apparently it can be a rougher go. We shall see!

Doesn’t sound like a pleasant experience tbf. I’ve had plenty of vaccines over the years for travel and have never had any side effects, hoping for the same results if and when it happens this time. I’m moving out of Istanbul when I get back, going to somewhere warm and with less people. I’ll hold off for as long as I can.

It wasn’t pleasant but I was one of the unlucky ones. Most don’t get much more than a sore arm. You do you, honestly. I understand some vaccine apprehension. My girl is Black and, given their sordid history with public health malfeasance, I get them being ehhhhhhhhhhhh. Her and a lot of her friends are pretty ehhhhhh about it all. Trust just isn’t there. I don’t agree with it, but I get it.

jonattonyeah Do you think the skill of administering the jab bas anything to do with it?

I’ve had shed loads of jabs over the years and I sware some after effects are down to the application. I had one nurse who had clearly been administering jabs for decades and never had a problem. Likewise when a less experienced nurse just whacked the needle in, I had sore arm etc

That’s a good point. I’ve had few jabs due to traveling and had no side effects apart the occasional dead arm.

I can’t be sure but I knew the nurse who did mine and she’s been doing this sort of thing for years. Didn’t even feel it when she jab’d me.

Can you get a choice. I thought you get what you’re given. My father got his first jab last night but not sure which one he got.
