This caused ructions in our household. The mrs (also anaesthetist) got her second dose. She got it on the last day they were honouring it. I am quite happy to wait. My understanding from the Oxford/AZ trial is that nobody who got the first dose was hospitalised with C19. That is the win we are looking for. It is still damage control. How long that protection persists for if you do not get a second dose at 3 weeks is difficult to say but it will not end abruptly at 3 weeks
Sure we were promised x million doses and yet again the government failed to deliver, but rather dampen down and reduce hospitalisations across a larger population that completely prevent any illness in a smaller population. I understand the anxieties about the trials and how this is off licence but I think it sensible.
