I’ve never seen anything like it. We had a scare with flu in 09/10 but this is next level. I’ve given up explaining that to people who don’t want to believe it.

68 million population of the uk yes and death rate of 0.138% could u say 20% of those death weren’t even covid related yes you could. Blame should be put on the government for not investing properly in the NHS for last 10 years that is obvious.

I do agree about health systems being undercut and neglected, it’s defo an issue and maybe could’ve put everyone in a better position for such pandemics.

We did not follow New Zealand by closing our borders. 2. Contact tracing has been a shambles. 3. Austerity the last 10 years have left the NHS up shits creek. 4. Nightingale hospitals opened up as a publicity stunt not being used due to not enough staffing! 5. Lockdown reopening lockdown reopening causing spikes. 6. Cancer screenings cancelled which will cause a cancer pandemic once this all ends.

Could go on and on but if you want to eat up everything the government and mainstream media are telling you thats fine maybe its a generation thing. I choose to take everything they say with a pinch of salt as the saying goes.

The NHS is something that all British people take for granted and have no real idea of how lucky they are, it’s about time it was reformed and run properly. It’s a disgrace the wages of nurses and the amount of hours doctors are expected to do. The executive and managerial layers should be eliminated.

Its the same thing, CJ, when you boil it down. It’s just another way of saying its underfunded, meaning the money isn’t being properly allocated and therefore the system is shit and under-prepared to deal with situations like this, just like in Ireland where years of neglect have left the system in the red even before Auntie Covid came along.
