Was a bit worried about my second jab coming up next week, given my bad reaction last time, but spoke to someone at UCSF and they’re wondering if for those of us already COVID positive the first jab is essentially the second. That prior positives might not need a second shot. Obviously getting it anyway but an interesting theory I hope to hear more about.

Both my parents have had their first jab. My father had the Pfizer jab but my mother had the Oxford as she’s allergic to penicillin.

Mad_Cyril Nah, she’s a teacher. Her school deals with a lot of special needs kids who need one to one care.

All of the teachers and TA’s in the school are getting it. The local authority approved it as the bubble system that most schools are using to keep things as safe as possible, isn’t really possible in an environment with so many SEN kids.

Teachers like that and police should be at the front of the queue along with medical workers IMO.

I find it appalling that they’re not, and the older people in my family all say the same thing, basically:
“I’m over 60 but can just stay indoors, they can’t”

bosstrabs The numbers of kids attending the school my wife teaches in is crazy compared to the first lock down.

The first time around, there were hardly any. This time, between the 2 classes in her year group, there is almost a full class of kids. She’s working half of her time in school and the other half at home with the kids online.

The system they have in place is shit for the teachers. She just seems to be working constantly.

If you follow the numbers though Dubbers, it makes sense to get those who are impacted greatest first.

Happens with all other vaccines.

I cant deny that the moral case is a compelling one too (I’d rather see my wife vaccinated than me) but its unscientific and doesn’t hold up under scrutiny.

Dubman I had a bit of a to do on Tuesday night and ended up doing CPR in one of my neighbours houses. Paramedics / air ambulance and police. About 6 of us in a bedroom at one point. No other way to say it other than the police were amazing. If this is the kind of stuff they have to go to, along with splitting up domestics and the absolute dregs of society spitting in their face, they deserve the vaccine as much as anyone else.

I am enjoying being at home with daughter though, wouldn’t get the opportunity to spend so much time together if wasn’t WFH.
