There have been similar (I think even more) instances with the Pfizer vaccine also - but these weren’t deemed necessary for further investigation

LT42 You’re like an aul wan gossiping at the checkouts. Bore off.

LT42 I reckon there’s a massive insurance hand involved and it’s a storm in a tea cup but who knows

    Hmm…

Old-Dutch Like all vaccines a small percentage of people will succumb to side effects unfortunately, I think that would be the sensible way to look at it, and in every situation these things should be studied just in case. However, the idea that it was done to spite the UK and AZ is one spouted by absolute mouth breathing anti-EU twats.

Why not take a consistent approach if there are suspected issues happening in parallel? A little odd to single one out over the other when there are less instances with it in the first place?

The Italian Health Minister has already admitted it is a political issue with the AZ vaccine

bosstrabs hmmm what, Dave? The halting of the rollout would have mutli national insurance lawyers up all night. Amirite?

I’ve taken issue with Alistair’s bone headed idea that the EU are kiiling people as opposed to, you know, the fucking virus we’ve lived with for over 12 months and the decisions made by individuals.

Hmm, in that you’re telling people their comments are basically unsubstantiated gossip, when most of what you present is the same e.g.

      “I reckon there’s a massive insurance hand involved ”

“there’d be some underhanded greedy deals being done”

“The underhanded nature of why this is so has already been revealed.”

      How about some sources?

Whatever way you want to look at it if you take a coordinated approach to destroy public confidence in a vaccine during a pandemic for political purposes when you don’t have sufficient supply of alternative vaccines it’s beyond reckless at best.

bosstrabs all more than reasonable arguments than spouting the “EU” are killing people, which is the kinda thing Maura and Bridey are taking about at the checkout.

You can Google UK Govt blocking Oxford deal with Merck for a start, Dave. Also Google Trump admin begins blocking of vaccine exports. Have fun. İ don’t save links on the pretense you’ll be grilling me 6 months into the future but I know what I’ve read.

Old-Dutch for political purposes? Is that not a conspiracy theory? Given we know testing and research found the findings to be true.

Hursty I’m all for positivity but this shit show ain’t over yet 🙁

          Got away loads last year.

And I will get away this year!

Novel way of being vaccinated, for sure…

Old-Dutch So who I believe here? The scientists in the article I posted or the “experts” in yours. Depends on which way my predetermined convictions are I suppose. Meanwhile dopes like us will be arguing over it on the Internet anyway. Nothing gets done, and we’ll be back here in October arguing the same thing.

The problem is when the confidence has been lost with the AZ vaccine, how do you go about rebuilding it? You can’t just say there’s more cases of blood clotting with the Pfizer vaccine can you?

It’s an absolute shit show and completely irresponsible what’s gone on there. One of my mum’s friends is convinced the UK Government are covering up cases of blood clotting with the AZ vaccine and won’t take it. The fact there was already unease with the vaccine and people were not turning up for their appointments after the comments made by Macron and Merkel before the decision by the cluster of countries to halt administering the vaccine makes it completely reckless. This is not aimed at the EU by the way. This is down to individual states and leaders.

I WILL be turning up for my vaccine tomorrow.
