Shit is like fully back to normal here. CDC just said masks not needed in out door settings for the vaxxed too. Not a clue what the COVID numbers are like as looking always gives me a mild panic attack and actual data is a complete mess at the moment.
zackster Numbers are still very high according to Johns Hopkins. The attitude seems to be if you get it, you get it, dont stop the Freedom train, Jesus has the wheel.
LT42 Where are you again?
Amps Istanbul
alistair “It’s not a strip club, it’s a high class leisure venue”
LT42 get yourself down the office toot fucking sweet, Vinny.
Liqui I’ve got the answer to the 3 week alcohol ban.
Get three weeks worth of booze in.
Those public school fees really weren’t wasted.
I’m going to make 5 litres of Vodka and 5 litres of Kahlua, for a 3rd of the price.
That’ll keep us going.
Lol. I do love the idea of LT drinking moonshine out of a jar while watching the people getting water cannoned from his balcony.
Lol, thats what I call a good day out
This is a pretty interesting roundup of the evidence on vaccine single shot efficacy… the numbers look pretty high for all of them… personally won’t be worrying too much in a week’s time when 3 weeks will have elapsed since my first Moderna shot

Jules72 nice one. Wish we could get some more data on hospitalisations etc with these vaccines and the variants.
Yep - very encouraging all round. Great stuff
The transmission numbers are looking better than I thought.
Doing an antibodies test in 3 weeks time, 3+ weeks after 2nd shot, to see the impact of the drugs on the vaccine efficacy.
Will be interesting to get the results

We have had zero hospitalizations for those vaccinated. Not one person. Variants haven’t been an issue but Brazil and India are now brought up on our morning calls which is was not the case until recently. Rhouses needs to shut up and get their shit under control. We won’t be back to square one but I’d be worried about Covid-21 this winter if they can’t sort themselves out.
jonattonyeah Will the vaccine prevent hospitalisations of those infected with variants JTY?
Along_the_Wire there was an article in the press last week quoting some “expert” in India saying vaccines were still perfectly effective against their variant. But was told by a mate that his parents in law were hospitalised 3 weeks after taking the AZ vaccine… so seems reliable info hard to come by. The Brazilian variant has been known since January so I’m surprised we don’t know much yet, although that’s probably a reflection of crap or non existent data collection in Brazil. Still, it has spread to all sorts of countries (biggest outbreak so far was in Canada) so we will know soon I guess.
I don’t know. We haven’t had any issues with variants. The only people who have tested positive for variants were done so through contact tracing - they have all be asymptomatic with no major issues (certainly no hospitalizations). We caught them somewhat on accident. UCSF is rolling out a antibody study around variants next week which I’ll likely be asked to take part in. That should shed more light. Currently, we’re fine around here. No issues whatsoever. I was on outbreak duty and we don’t have any. So I’m back to AIDS half time as there really wasn’t much to do. California is set to fully open on June 15th.
Jules72 cheers. Given the Kent variant seems to be one of the worst and the vaccine works with that, it gives me some optimism.
jonattonyeah think all positives in the U.K. are checked for variants….thats not the case in the US right Jon? So you’re not going to be picking up the spread particularly well either?
I’ve been in the local throttling back pints!
Godspeed all!
