Jules72 From the folks I know in India, it does seem to be a varied picture across the country, but it sounds all of the major population centres are fucking grim at the moment. One of my colleagues had a bit of a meltdown on Thursday, as she’d heard in the space of 12 hours:
1) That her uncle had died having struggled with COVID for 2 weeks, and after not being able to secure hospital treatment or oxygen to use at home
2) That one of her college friends (under the age of 30) had died of COVID complications
3) That her father had tested positive, and was beginning to struggle to breathe.
That’s in Gurgaon, 25 miles outside of Delhi. Delhi itself sounds like a fucking nightmare at the moment. Sure - the picture in bumfuck nowhere in the rural areas of India will be very, very different…
