alistair If the vaccines work (and there is nothing to suggest they don’t), why do new coronavirus variants matter?
There’s actually plenty of evidence that shows scientists are still working on these questions and as yet don’t have conclusive answers, the very idea of a mutation means research has to continue on the fly. You can find evidence that the vaccines work up to a certain point on the original strain but the variants have many virologists and immunologists throwing hail marys, everyone is gambling right now but what can we do, everyone wants to move on. The only way for it to be fair on the majority of society is for some kind of stamp on your forehead that shows you’ve been vaccinated. If you don’t have the stamp, then off the bus or out of the store, fucko. The world is moving on, these anti-vax groups should be left behind to rot imo and as someone mentioned, full medical bill coverage should be their own responsibility. I know it’s infringing on rights and that’s a dangerous road to travel down but the line has to be drawn somewhere for the benefit of the larger tribe.
