LT42 …its a weird one for sure, was fine Saturday, crumpled Saturday evening with that dehydrated, impending heavy-cold feeling, streaming nose and sore eyes/throat yesterday. Today, generally knackered and feeling like I’m running a temperature, struggling to concentrate and kinda regretting saying I was fine to work from home.

Basically, I’m all over the shop but nowt drastic. My boy however seems right as rain, the bastard…

According to the news last night just 1 in 25 new Covid cases have had both doses of vaccine… should have bought that fucking EuroMillions ticket.

The India Variant was first detected in April. We’ve relaxed a lot of restrictions since then, but the number of hospitalisations continues to fall and the numbers of those vaccinated continues to rise. I don’t understand what the panic is. Fear and panic clearly sells.

alistair it’s not panic but cases are rising 50% a week… you’re not sure what the panic is, I don’t get what the hurry is when cases are rising exponentially!!!

alistair Which hospitalisation data are you looking at? The modelling I’ve seen is showing that the week-on-week hospitalisation rates are actually going up - by c. 7% versus last week’s figures…

One would hope those paid to do so are looking at the FACTS across the board (cases, hospitalisations, deaths), and coming to an informed conclusion.

Utilising the statistics most supportive of one’s position only is a bit pointless.

One thing that I was mulling on the chaise longue yesterday was, if variant D goes nuts, how easy will it be to get people back into lockdown? From what I’ve seen this weekend it appears the genie is out of the bottle!

There’ll be many more variants to come, we just have to crack on with it now and hope that boosters sort things out in the longer-term. Everyone in an at risk group had been offered two jabs - if you haven’t take it, you can go and fuck yourself. And given what I’ve witnessed, it’s as if everything is open already - two weeks more won’t make a toss of difference.

Along_the_Wire I was on an all dayer in london on sat, and like you said, feels like everything back to normal. But then again sticking a mask on in some places, ordering drinks via apps feels like normality now anyway!

vinnyt77 the app is the way forward, no having to try and get the bar staffs attention to get served. I’m guessing the staff must like it too as they don’t have to keep an eye on which table is next to take orders.

According to the Government guide the vaccine contains the active substance BNT162b2 RNA.

Hursty my understanding is most that shit is to help stabilize the vax. Pfizer wasn’t able to do an exact 1 to 1 with the ModeRNA patent they bought the rights to.

As an aside I am well pleased with the ModeRNA doses President Trump secured for me.
