The General Covid19 Thread
Your mate buys pills off toilet cisterns?
Have to say that is a genuine first.
Apparently they’re off the chain

I’ve seen this “argument” a few times, mostly on facebook, but it’s always spun in this way which doesn’t fully make sense.
A similar argument could also be made, which is rather - why are many young people who are happy to buy pills and sniff coke off toilet cisterns so afraid of a virus which is probably less dangerous to them (particularly compared to the coke at any rate)?!
Another thing, as I’ve already discussed above, for young people the vaccine can also be more dangerous than the virus.
Age is a major factor in the above debate though of course.
If a toilet cistern is knocking out coke and pills, they must be absolutely flush.

Jules72 if the vaccinated people are in their 70s and 80s they could still be at some risk of serious illness from the Delta variant, albeit much reduced. How many elderly and vulnerable people are there in your workplace though? If there are such people then maybe provisions could be made, though it’s difficult to say it’s really necessary when such provisions were never made for flu which as I’ve been pointing out has a similar or maybe even higher mortality rate than covid has for the vaccinated.
For vaccinated people of general working age, from the current mortality figures the risk of death from the Delta variant is infinetesimal .
I had no idea Hugo was an epidemiologist.
