i agree that lateral flow tests are a waste of time. both my wife and son tested positive before being confirmed on a PCR tests, however I only ever tested positive on a PCR and had a number of negative lateral flow tests even after testing positive. I also had the worst symptoms out of the family

Are LFT’s useless because people aren’t sticking them down their throat / up their nose far enough ….. ?
Not disagreeing as don’t have experience of having to have a PCR

wrongun think it might be because they only pick up high viral loads… I know a couple of people who had assymptomatic covid and kept testing negative on lateral flow tests

I done exactly the same with the pcr as I did at home with LFT. Completed 5 test after testing positive to check to see if it would ever register

hugopal cases matter because the number tells you what the prevalence of covid is in the country and the chances of catching it.. and cases typically translate into deaths a couple of weeks later. Ok?!! We are surely on the same page there Hugo?!!

Delta is more transmissable than ebola and Hugo’s favorite, the common flu. Vaccines only help with the severity of the infection. With that around we’re all going to get it most likely. Twice jabbed just have a 99 % chance of getting it lightly.

Am I a bad person if I want antivaxxers to get it badly? Never mind, I know the answer to that.

bosstrabs that’s not true Dave… firstly vaccines stop approx 50% of infections full stop… secondly, they are thought to reduce transmission by 50% (due to much lower viral load spewed out) when the person does become infected … that means it makes a difference whether the person next to you is vaccinated or not. The article anyway says vaccinated people “can” transmit the virus as easily as an unvaccinated person…. That’s not the same as “do” transmit
