Hursty Picked up some French cider from Lidl this morning, I have fond memories of drinking it on family holidays back in the good old days when there wasn’t any age restrictions in France!
Hursty C_J The 750ml bottle lasted 5 minutes! Cider must be the drink which goes down the fastest when supping from a glass
Along_the_Wire Bought some nice Chianti Classico (2016, obvs) to settle down and watch the Strava Bianche. Living the dream.
benson tried to have a glass of red this week and it just did not go down well. I may be going off it. I really need the pubs to reopen so I can take up my social drinking habit again
vinnyt77 Hursty 100%. I ordered some West Country still cloudy cider a few weeks back. I gulp it - there’s no other word.
benson vinnyt77 cider and sausage festival twice at year at the local. Old Rosie and other such abominations lead to very very bad hangovers. I love it. This is the kind of stuff we need to get back to.
vinnyt77 benson That’s the stuff. Love Westons’ Rhubarb still cider as well. Developed a real taste for it during the awesome hot weather during the first lockdown…
Along_the_Wire Weston’s Vintage is wonderful stuff, but I’ve had to stop drinking it - 8.2% and goes down too easily
deathbysmurf Having recently gotten back into homebrewing, this is the first pour of a black IPA recipe I fell in love with when I lived in San Diego. Hoppy like an IPA but heavy like a good stout…the 8% ABV doesn’t hurt, either.
C_J I put it to the board that “Cider” is one of the cultural markers that separate the Southern Anglo Saxons from the Northern Celts/ Picts. Where I’m from, cider is only consumed by vagrants and children.
