Cider is massive down this way, by which I mean the South West of England, never appreciated until I moved down here.

You can still rock up to Thatchers with your own vessel and fill it with scrumpy for next to nothing. Proper job.

Time and a place for it though absolutely.

Lol. Pretty accurate for belfast too, mate!

Am on the Sicilian Lemon Gin.

Absolutely winning basically.

If it is breaking it down in your gut the. You won’t get pissed. What’s the point?

I want a pill that can sober me up from drunk. Not one that stops me getting drunk in the first place.

Hursty’s looking myrkl (BERKyl) when he should be boshing the ole nugenix.

Smallman1 They missed a trick with the marketing, get in touch with the team Ed!

Regarding the pill, sounds too good to be true

I made my own Gin today, its festering in the kitchen right now. Gonna blast it off tomorrow at lunchtime and I hope to be baloobas drunk by 4pm.

Back to work today after two weeks off, and I most definitely should not have drunk for three days in a row at the end of said two weeks. Today was very difficult. Can’t do that shit at this age anymore. I think I slept two hours between Sunday and Monday, just sweated and tossed and turned in the bed. 😂

Hursty Anyone given these a whirl?

          Some bold claims made!

It does seem plausible that they could help the metabolism of alcohol, e.g. one of the two main ingredients is this probiotic:

          https://www.researchgate.net/publication/347544736_The_applications_of_B_coagulans_TCI711_in_alcohol_elimination

Also, slightly tangential, but I have in the past tried taking other types of probiotics (and also digestive enzymes) prior to drinking alcohol (or eating certain foods) which help to reduce the histamine load created by such activities and can attest they had some benefit.

Given the product you outline seems to function in a similar way but with alcohol I can imagine them doing something.

I want a pill that can sober me up from drunk. Not one that stops me getting drunk in the first place.

They would clearly be much more efficient if taken prior to drinking, but based on my experience from experimenting with taking other probiotics to reduce histamine load from food and drink I really wouldn’t be surprised if they did still take a slight bit of the edge off if taken once you were already drunk.

I enjoy being hammered. Don’t care what it does to me. No kids, no interest, and don’t want to be super old. TOPS OFF ALL DAY EVERY DAY WHILE I AM STILL HERE.

Along_the_Wire does it affect the alcohol entering the blood stream?

I can’t view that whole research article, but it seems plausible that if taken prior it would help metabolise the alcohol in the gut prior to it entering the blood stream.

However, it does seem that it could also still potentially help in reducing blood alcohol levels if taken afterwards. See my next post below:

              Fascinating stuff, Hugo.

              Now pass me another drink.

              Along_the_Wire

Continuing from my previous reply to you, it does seem possible that it could also also help with reducing blood alcohol if taken after alcohol consumption.

While doing some quick digging I noticed someone had even tried to make a patent application for a method of taking certain probiotics in combination with the NAD+ enzyme after alcohol consumption to reduce blood alcohol levels. In the patent application they claim that in their experiments:

“In general, the subject’s BAC was reduced by 15-60% within 5-60 minutes following administration of NAD+, Lactobacillus, and Bifidobacterium”

              https://patents.google.com/patent/US9161957B2/en

The Myrkl product Hursty posted contains two types of bifido bacteria which were used in the bifidobacterium formulation of this patent applicant, combined with L-Cysteine, which is an amino acid that seems to be related to NAD+ and thus could perhaps be fulfilling the same function in the Myrkl product to the NAD+ in the patent method.
