Cankles-McJeggings Dubman I’ve got about a quarter of a bottle left after tonight’s session and not feeling too bad.
rhouses Dubman Unless I’m absolutely desperate, mostly when I need to get a last minute gift, I avoid buying intl liquor in India. Plenty of good Indian brands that do the job, no complaints.
rhouses Cankles-McJeggings hmmm single malt would be way too peaty. Bourbon is good, but can be a bit sweet.
Cankles-McJeggings rhouses hmmm single malt would be way too peaty. Bourbon is good, but can be a bit sweet It’s not, it’s just different. It was Aberlour that he used. Bourbon is what the original drink was made with. Plus you can offset the sweetness with the amount of lemon you use.
Cankles-McJeggings Dubman Bought my dad a bottle of Woodford reserve for fathers day..he loves it Aah it’s head and shoulders above bog standard bourbons.
rhouses Dubman that’s a banging no hangover gin, big fan. But my vote will always go to hendricks or botanist.
C_J rhouses Johnny walker was good back in the day but is now Diageo tourist fodder. Black Bottle on the other hand is class - and cheap. Never tried it in a sour but is good for whiskey espresso martinis Thankyouplease
rhouses C_J pretty much why I like to use black label for cocktails. Saves me from a brutal hangover that comes with local, cheaper whiskey (teachers).
Cankles-McJeggings C_J That’s great. And fits in with the sweet taste the arberlour had. No peaty flavour. At Xmas my mate buys A’Bunadh by Aberlour and it’s like Xmas pudding in a glass. It’s overproof though and takes your head off.
rhouses C_J nice one, saved. Haven’t dabbled in whiskey for a while. Was Laphoraig for many many years. Wife insisted on getting a glennmorangie and aberfeldy… the latter being quite good. Didn’t feel very manly when I insisted on baileys salted caramel for my two bottle quota. Lol.
C_J My personal favourite distilleries (if I was forced to pick only two) would be Ardbeg (obviously) & Bunnahabhain (less well known but highly highly recommended).
rhouses Cankles-McJeggings lol. Saw me through my 20s and now it’s only at corporate parties where the company is being cheap with the booze package.
Homegrove Lagavulin 16 would be my whiskey if I could justify the expense. As I can’t it’s usually Laphroaig for me, Ardbeg if it’s duty free.
