Bush (Dick Cheney) was pretty diabolical. People tend to forget he left the presidency with the 2008 financial disaster looming and two completely unjust wars.
To his credit, Trump has mostly just said a bunch of outlandish shit and has been terrible regarding immigrants, Muslims and the environment. But there have been no wars, there has barely been any meddling with other countries or bombing the fuck out of them. Pre-COVID, the US economy was doing very well, far better than Bush Jr ever left it - second term almost guaranteed. Tons of my progressive yank buddies were shrugging their shoulders and saying we made more money, we paid less taxes in 2019.
