In fairness to Biden and his team, they’re just playing good politics right now. The plan they unveiled yesterday seems like a return to “normal” in that there’s absolutely nothing like it that’s come from Trump before or after his term in office. Build the Wall is comic book stuff compared to the real world of governing.

And Biden is in bed with Wall St of course, which is why he must be a strong favourite now. The rebuild has to start somewhere. 70 years of prestige has been wiped out and shat on.

zackster sorry, don’t get me wrong, what I mean is how other foreign Govts now view the WH. 70 years of “strength” and reality based diplomacy. Which I personally think is disingenuous because the American Govt have always been bullies and hypocritical bastards, but how the office is viewed by their allies now is unprecedented. The bar has never been this low. George Bush is starting to seem like a 5th century philosopher in comparison.

zackster I want to believe that Biden’s had to call in a lot of favors to get where he is and that the people providing those favors are progressive and will cash in those favors when he’s in office to help make progressive change, but I admit that in reality that might be a stretch.

I just can’t do 4 more years of what we’ve been experiencing. If nothing else, hopefully the racists are forced back into the hole they crawled out of.

Yeah, at this point in time, how the world sees the office of the president means very little to me. Joe being an even bigger dibbling puppet than Regan, with the same politics, but the ability to keep the DEM party to the right of center doesn’t make me think the world will suddenly respect us or the office again.
