Comical bilge that conveniently snapshots the current status quo of progressive house.
Vom.
That run time. Over 10 minutes.

Cattaneo played for 4 hrs here in Dublin not so long ago. I was actually contemplating going to it as the promoter was going to throw my name on the g-list but i simply couldn’t justify bothering to go to it.
Anyway, there was a recording which he sent me which i was sworn to secrecy with (laughable). Gave a listen and dont me wrong I actually admire the care given to building of the set but by Christ the music itself in the first 2 hours particularly had absolutely nothing going for it. Monotone edge-less rubbish. What ive noticed about a lot pf progressive house dj’s over here and is common with cattaneo in those opening hours is that they are more than happy to play an ‘all day i dream’ type record even if it lacks any genuine catchy hook or melody once they feel it falls into that orchestral parameter.
Anyway the set became slightly more tolerable as he began to pull out a few bigger records from then on but still very much in the generic progressive house mould.
The Button Factory was absolutely rammed to the rafters for it and, from what i could gather form the videos mostly south Americans and poorly dressed and generally ‘limited’ dullards commonly associated with progressive house these days.
seanc80 He played 338 in London with Warren last summer b2b and I was expecting something pleasant but fairly pedestrian (hadn’t seen him live for 15 years) but he/they banged it out to a very responsive and mixed crowd. Always been good on purely technical level. Totally different but just as much fun as Dixon at Printworks a couple of months later
Dixon and co are playing alot of rubbish at the moment as well to be fair. This obscurely loud, screeching, conflicting-synth sound is awful to me. Hovart started it and they are all filling their sets with anything remotely like it. Self absorbed auld shite
I’ve had some good nights at the Button Factory… Decent venue.
I listened to it again, and I still like it. Whole set of stuff like this god know, but a good opener. I’ll never forgive you lot for making me defend Cattaneo.
Its rubbish Hannu.
Simple as that.
