303abuser cheers, wasn’t sure on this one, and i had to change the low end when mastering as I’d originally written this with a synth kick which took up all the bottom end. Even then I wasn’t mega sure.

apyssjw It could be all of the noise that I’m used to working with, but your mixes always sound really clean to me.

The new album with Essentia Sound will be released May 2nd.

Unbroken1 I’d originally written it with something very different down there - but OL didn’t think it really worked. This versions kick absolutely cuts up into the mid ranges 🙂 - and allowed me to add the subby bass which follows the mid leady line a little.

apyssjw I’m really happy with how it turned out, the album is a grower though, I think it gets better with each track, so I’m not sure if people with stick with it to give it a chance. The theme is death and rebirth, so it starts cold and ends with more melodic tracks (relatively speaking of course). I think there are lots of interesting moments.

I’m tired of hearing the same basic dubtechno formula, so just trying to do something a little different. Hopefully people like it. I think the last 2 or 3 tracks are the best we’ve written over three albums.

Mad_Cyril Yeah, free/pay what you want through the label. I’ll share it when it’s out.

303abuser …thanks man! bit of a departure for Mango, as they are definitely out-and-out modern PROG, and I see my version as a bit more housey, Guerilla-style old progressive.

It’s a strong package with the other versions tho IMO.

Unbroken1 I was listening to the deep dish yoshi mixes on the weekend, this would fit well with that sound for sure.

The stats for my albums all show a drop off from first track to last - which is understandable.

Excellent. Any particular processes / synths you were using?

apyssjw I’ve seen the same with every album, which sucks because I feel like the end of my albums are always the best tracks. To be expected in a low-attention span environment I guess.

I don’t think there’s anything particular with them, maybe more of a specific melodic focus, I think we’re just getting better at it. A lot of the solo stuff I have done though is really influenced by the space echo pedal I bought. More hardware and dub-style mixing jams that I’ve cut up and resampled into proper arrangements. It’s been a fun way to work.
