Not sure about this one, I’d probably be more interested if I didn’t have a mixer and other elektron gear. For the price, it needs more inputs, overbridge, slicing and stretching, and more sample editing options. The routing and fx look interesting, but not for almost $2500 (cad).

Looks pretty deep and I am sure once it has been out for a while there’ll be videos showing some of the amazing stuff you can do with it. It’s pretty cool with the SD card as storage allowing you to bypass Transfer. And recording directly from USB-C eases the workflow. But alas, not for me either.

Honestly, I’m kind of glad I’m not that excited about it, the last thing I need is more gear.

I’m sure it’ll be good, pretty much everything they put out is. I think it would be nice if they just released a sampler that did everything it should instead of leaving out certain features for the sake of market segmentation.

Apologies I’d this is the wrong thread for this post but I’m after a bit of advice.

I’ve got an old Yamaha Portasound PSS-780 keyboard. It’s old (I got it as a kid, Christmas 1989, I think) but it has a built in synthesizer which you can get some pretty cool sounds out of.

On the back it has midi (thru, out and in), headphones and aux out.

I’ve just bought Ableton live. What do I need to connect the keyboard to my laptop (dell xps13 usb C port), so that I can get the sounds into Ableton.

Check out the Focusrite Scarlett or even some of the Behringer options, £100-ish should get you something decent that’ll do the job.

Matt You want to run the audio out from the synth into the interface, then to the laptop. The midi ports are for note on/off messages. You could for example run the midi out to an interface to use it as a keyboard to control ableton. If all you need is to connect the one synth and aren’t expanding to more hardware in the near future, any cheap modern interface will suffice.
