Unbroken1 I was immediately intrigued, then saw the leaked price tag. If it’s actually $4500 CAD, I don’t understand how they sell a single unit. I can buy a rytm and anoctatrack for that.

Edit: looks like it’s $3500 CAD, still far too expensive given available alternatives

Manski …honestly, if you can stretch to it and are serious about giving it a go, I’d say yes. With Suite you can get away without any external VST’s/plugins for the most part, and the samples are enough to get you started, there’s not much you can’t do with the native stuff if you know it well enough.

Whether you decide to go for Standard or Suite, it’s worth registering and downloading Lite, you’ll get Black Friday upgrade discounts that way.

Looks like I actually bought 10 a few years back so Suite upgrade is only £179. I need to actually invest the time this time around though… that’s where the problem lies!!

Unbroken1 Apparently it weighs 12 lbs too! The demos all sound really good and it looks like something I’d use every day, but as you mentioned, pairing the TRS with the octatrack/digitakt2/mpc/etc. would be cheaper, probably more flexible, and cost far less.

Unbroken1 Great all around! I think Protean is my favorite, but the bassline on Articulate is fantastic too. Went from listening to the premasters for my next album to these and it was like taking out earplugs in a loud club lol.

I’m being offered the Soundtoys bundle for $159. I currently only have Echoboy. Do I need this in my life? I already have Arturia FX. I know who will reply to this!

Henry Haha yes you “need” it. Is it going to duplicate a lot of what you have with arturia? Yes. But if I had to pick one to live with, it would be soundtoys. I use almost everything they offer on most tracks I make. They’re still really good plugins and it’s almost worth the price for the delays and reverbs alone.

Reverb is the one thing that FX does not do well. Well, I can’t seem to get anything decent out of them. I suppose Rev Intensity is ok.

Does it have anything for beefing up the drums? I’m still using Izotope Trash, but it’s Intel on Silicon so is a bit flaky.

I use decapitator and radiator for saturation. Devil loc is a little wild, so I don’t use it as often. Honestly, I use roar as often now too because it’s so good.

Superplate is my go to drum reverb and spaceblender is so good, can’t believe they gave it away for free. Toss it on a return track and it’s an instant evolving texture machine.

303abuser I will probably go for this vs another upgrade for Arturia FX. The only thing about the Soundtoys plugins is there isn’t a way of tagging your favourite presets. Or could just be the versions that I am using?

Henry I bought one of the early versions of arturia’s fx collections, but don’t see any point in upgrading either. The value has really gone from their initial offers.

I’m quite sure you can save user presets in soundtoys. I don’t really use them and just dial in what I’m looking for each time, but I know lots of people sell presets online.
