303abuser So happy that I didn’t lob it onto eBay. I had assumed that the next big update would the Syntakt 2. Loving that list of new features though.

Henry I honestly wasn’t even excited about sampling, but after an hour of messing around with it, I love the implementation. Worth it just to be able to use 909 hats and choke groups. They said that there won’t be a syntakt 2 and implied future updates too, so that’s a bonus.

Unbroken1 Aye, that Arrival track is very nice indeed and can see why you would be happy with that. I have no idea what formula you are using for these releases. I need to change my artist name to The Procrastinator or something. 😭

Henry …many thanks! 😉 No consistent formula, some definitely ‘emerge’ easier than others, but definitely find I am getting more disciplined at finishing projects

303abuser OK. After saying I have no interest in it at all. I’ve only gone and bought a Tonverk.
Since its first release they added a granulator and the Wavefinder with two oscillators and I’ll be adding the wavetables from Pigments once I get it.
Also…. and what pushed me into purchasing it, Tonverk Overbridge is now in beta - announced yesterday.

Henry 😂 that sounds about right. The problem with elektron gear is that all of their products are good in their own way and you can pretty much count on great future updates.

You have another album on the go yet?

No! Been taking a break from it for about 4 months. No production at all. Watched a fair few videos over the past month or so and have slowly warmed to the idea of adding a synth to my hardware set up. The TV ticks the boxes for some of the gritty melodic sound I would like to explore.
How about things from your end?

That’s fair, I tend to do that one a year or so. Take a break and come back with some new ideas and renewed enthusiasm.

I’m kicking ideas around at the moment. Have a couple of tracks finished without a release in mind yet, another dozen in various states lol, started one with Stephen (Essentia Sound) that’ll probably be part of some new project. New album will finally be out on May 1st too. The newest track on that one is a year old now so I’m not even sure how I feel about it anymore haha.

Yeah I know that feeling of coming back to a track and not liking it. Before I took a 4 month break from it, I had about 9 tracks ready to go into arrangement etc. Fired up Ableton last weekend for the first time in ages and instantly hated about 7 of them. 😭
I’ve pencilled in the 1st May for something to look forward to. 👍

I do a lot of sketching on the DT/ST combo. Spend an hour or so on one pattern, then move on to a new one, and I’ll do 4 or 5 in one sitting. When I come back to them a month or two later for perspective, maybe 1 out of 5 are good enough to build out. I like the process of coming back to tracks when I don’t remember writing them, it allows me to be way more objective and not just enjoy something because it’s new.
