I’m a sucker for saturation plugins. Oxide Tape from UAD is nice. Verve Analog Machines is very nice; no dry/wet though or multi-band, but since getting NuGen Sigmod on sale two weeks ago I can take care of that now for any plugin that does not have those capabilities.
Which makes me think about current sale on iZotope’s Trash plugin. I have the free version and I like Trash a lot, but do I really need the full version now I can just use Sigmod to ‘multiband’ it…. ? Granted, with Sigmod it’s less straight forward than just having it baked in functionality wise.
Other nice ones are a few of the TrackS 6 tape modules (Tape Machine 24 and 80). Have Quad Saturater from them as well which is also multi-band but somehow just doesn’t ‘do it’ for me. So I almost never reach for that one.
Spicerack from Process Audio is a good one.
One does have to be patient when doing this plugin collection thingy as most of the things I have listed I have gotten for free or next to nothing. Otherwise a quick €30 here and there quickly adds up. I got almost all of TrackS 6 Pro for €9 during the last group buy. I got lucky when I spotted Stealth Limiter from them in a steep sale for $10 just a few weeks before. That turned out to be my qualifier for the group buy… lol.
But great free stuff out there too man. The freebie from UJAM (Micro Finisher) is actually all their good stuff in one plugin without the faff and filler. blepFX has a really good filter plugin for free (of you are not set in that department yet): https://fx.amee.ee/plugin/filtrr/
With modulation, oversampling and excellent saturation algo’s. Real good stuff.. but I’m stuck in my ways with Filterfreak from Soundtoys already.
Klanghelms free IVGI also sounds really nice: https://klanghelm.com/contents/products/IVGI
