Ableton’s deals have traditionally been end of year rather than black Friday.
apyssjw …hmm, it was deffo a Black Friday deal when I upgraded to 10 Suite
Unbroken1 ¯_(ツ)_/¯
303abuser …do you think they are likely to do that? I assumed they would just want everyone to upgrade to 11 on new machines
Unbroken1 i read a rumour on reddit, so definitely nothing concrete. i’m really hoping it’s true because i have no desire to upgrade to 11 for any other reason than it running native on m1. i’m really interested to see what the speed difference is vs running everything through rosetta. i seem to have some plugins that still eat up cpu really quickly while other times i can stack tons of plugins without issue.
Unbroken1 to follow up, just read that there isn’t an official word from ableton, but there is a live 10 beta that mentions m1 support and that’s where the rumour comes from.
…OK interesting, thanks. I’ll be running both laptops for a short period, but obviously would like to transition fully to the new one before too long… seems a kick in the knackers to have to spend £180 for a minimal upgrade having just shelled-out on a new machine just to get it working on there.
agreed, it’s a pain in the ass, especially with the hub, adapters, and everything else that you need to buy too. if i wasn’t basically forced to upgrade now, i would’ve waited a year for the software to catch up.
Does anyone have any pocket operators? I have the sub, speak and robot. They sound brilliant - the sub and speak particularly. Great toys.
i don’t, but they look like fun. i’m eyeing a used tascam 414 tape deck at the moment as my next gear purchase.

Ross From Friends - random parts he didn’t use on his recent album.
apyssjw i read something about this, didn’t realize they were up for download. thanks for the link, i’ll have to go though that later today and steal the interesting bits.
alot of the parts sound like someone screwing about in Absynth.
that’s probably how most tracks start out, i’m just looking for something to spark an idea. one man’s trash, etc.
303abuser I wasn’t knocking it, just reminded me of Absynth.
Love Absynth - bassline on this one
is all Absynth.
apyssjw i like this one, bassline is cool, lots of interesting sound design too.
303abuser Thanks man, its one of my faves too - it’s not a great mix tho. There loads of absynth in it come to think of it. They keys towards the end are and the pitch bendy bit and the big drop sound in the middle.
apyssjw i’ll listen again later with proper headphones and check out the mix. it sounded decent on the ear buds i had available at the time, but the range obviously isn’t great with them.
mono-stereo yeah for sure, i didn’t take it that way.
