SM001 Ngl, a bit disappointed with my 4.5. Although I knew most of the artists mentioned, I’m not so familiar with lots of their stuff from pre-98. They largely ignored the 98-03 big tribal/prog crossover era in general.

I’m also a bit annoyed they played the Low End Specialists remix of ‘So Get Up’; I always thought it was a bit of a hidden gem, which won’t be so hidden any more. Absolutely banging.

I mean, they had Robbie Rivera - Feel This, and the Low End Specialists mix of So Get Up, which aren’t hugely different in terms of style and era. There could have been a couple more like that though.

The list was incredibly New York/East Coast vocal tracks-heavy. With a couple of nods to Portugal. No UK stuff or particularly darker, dubbier stuff eg no Peace Division, no Plastic Fantastic, no Saeed & Palash, Baroque, Saw etc. They didn’t even have any West Coast type stuff eg Hipp-E & Halo.

Hopefully some of those might come if they ever manage to do a Progressive episode.

hugopal …to be fair, even amongst the ‘experts’ it would be hard to separate a lot of releases from that period!

For a prog episode, agree with Al, the likes of Seaman, Pappa, also some of the record shop fellas at the time, Steve Parry, Enzo Plastic etc. might have a better recall of individual tracks than some of the bigger DJ’s tbh

Think the Robbie Rivera tune was on Tenaglia’s Athens comp, which seemed like a giveaway.

Same goes for the inclusion of Vasquez’s mix of When Madonna Calls, which seemed weirdly out of place — and like Tenaglia wouldn’t know that.

Seriously considering a tiara now though.

I’m sure they could have made it a bit trickier and more varied and DT still would have smashed it.

I DJ’d his wedding cyprus and we played at Beonix Festival.

Luke should be booked not just for his DJing skills but his entertainment value - he’s good fun

If Pappa’s diary has a gap in it when he’s in Europe I believe he will entertain smaller events if it makes sense in his schedule. He did ours and we were 200 people.

Check what this thread is for and see the ‘Tribal House’ episode above with Danny Tenaglia. Telekom have also been attempting to arrange a Progressive episode for their popular ‘Blind Test’ youtube series, but seemingly haven’t been doing a particularly good job of it. The vids are fun and get quite a lot of views, so can be decent exposure. If these guys like Pappa and Brancaccio are willing to do youtube interviews with SuperProgressive that nobody watches, then they will surely be down for this… they even just get recorded via webcam from your studio/home/wherever at a convenient time.

I just figured between this board we should know enough people who would be up for doing it to get the episode finally made. If even a few of the names mentioned like the idea, then that should probably be enough to make it viable as I’m sure Telekom will have found some potential guests, if not a full worthy six yet.
