ScottBailey yeah half of the tracks are more tech-house really. They also completely left out all of the fast loopy techno from that time like Chris McCormack, Ben Sims, Valentino Kanzyani, earlyish Umek etc.

I managed a not too bad 5.5.

You may laugh, but Graham was playing early acid house well before you might realize and is also an old soul boy.

I understand the grief he gets for Peach and the like, but he’s a mate and always been super amazing to me and my music after having met him in 1999. He hammered the shit out of my first ever record that came out in 2001 on KISS FM when he had his show. I’m quite grateful to him for doing so. The royalty cheque I got from that alone was quite bang tidy.

All you are telling me here is that ’he’s a mate’ and once played one of your tracks. He played one of mine too, I thanked him and he added me on FB. Would I call him a ‘mate’? no, but I put my preconceptions about him being a cheesemonkey aside, and based on our limited interactions, think he seems a decent fella.

I don’t check the board often. Hence, the delayed response.

We can go back and forth. He was pushing the sound when a lot weren’t. Admittedly he’s not on the same level as the likes of Evil Eddie Richards, Danny Rampling, Paul Oakenfold, etc. but to me he holds a legendary status. [shrug] He’s mentioned in several of the books I own on acid house and its early days.

Graham is indeed sound and we stay in contact. He was pressured to play a lot of stuff at KISS that he didn’t love because ‘radio’. These days he’s very much about progressive house and melodic techno and produces stuff in those genres that’s quite good.
