Have just finished American Primeval, superb and recommended.
Netflix
I thought American Primeval was ok. Nothing special and had been done before. Violent parts were generally gratuitous. Passed a few hours. A solid 5.5/10
I don’t know who to believe.
SM001 Between Ed and Millsy? That’s a slam dunk right there.
A hell of a reducer for Millsy from Grant there!
Think I am going to enjoy The Hooligan after the first episode

American Primeval. It’s watchable, but jesus is the lead woman fucking annoying.
Her stupid attitude of “fuck you Isaac, I’ll ignore your years of experience and I’ll do whatever I want, even if it means we all get nearly brutally murdered each episode” is mind bendingly ridiculous.
Issac should have offed her at the first sign of her being a fucking thicket and then stolen her money.
Gave American Primeval 5 mins but had to shut off with 10 mins because that lead actress felt unnatural.
Watched Hostiles and Last of the Mohicans instead. Both delivered.
So what I have learnt is that everyone thinks American primeval is shit, except Ed who thinks is superb!
I think Ed you should turn the tv off and stick to ledging it at the coalface and writing up those informative restaurant reviews
Also tried watching American Primeval and couldn’t watch more than 20 minutes. Felt like a rehash of all the other American West dramas just with a few doses of violence.
I don’t know if the same is true everywhere but Finnish Netflix now has the new 4K restauration of Once Upon a Time in the West. Awesome movie if you have a really big telly.
I’ve seen two episodes of Primeval and frankly, that’s more than it deserves. There are the three types of characters there, well four really: the stupid, the unlucky, the incredibly lucky and those with a very bad aim. Shite.
I knew you would embrace its varied dimensions, Grant lol
I thought American Primeval was really good. Well acted and shot with some incredible camerawork and cinematography with the snowy mountain vistas and realistic battle sequences. Often these sort of “historical fiction” things are just horribly failed actors in shitty costumes saying terrible lines but this was definitely not that. The actual stories could have been a bit less basic maybe with longer story arcs and more characters but I am hoping for a season 2.
