Happy to report that I lived on the outskirts of Burnley for nearly 20 years and it is indeed a dump as are other surrounding towns - Nelson, Brierfield and some areas of Colne. Blackburn for all it’s alleged rivalry is exactly the same except slightly bigger as is Accrington.
Bizarrely the last Labour government spunked millions on new schools only to actually make education worse.
I moved to the Ribble Valley with all the other 2 bob snobs.
Perhaps the greatest area near Burnley is Padiham which has one of the highest incest rates in the country.
It is indeed grim up North.

Certainly not in California. All our names are Spanish or, towards the northern coast, Russian-influenced. But possibly in the likes Pennsylvania or Virginia. Let me take a look….
