Been going through Ian M. Banks’ Culture-series. Bit amazing that as a scifi-fan I got to be this old before starting them. Great stuff.

    The Wolf sounds like a good one, @JonQPublik, will be giving it a shot.

    Holy fuck Dune Messiah is bad and campy af. But will complete it. Don’t think I’m gonna bother with the third part.

    Stalingrad had me a bit intimidated, but will give it a go soon too.

    Finished Bobby Gillespie’s memoir… my favourite read of the year by some stretch. The way he manages to articulate his passion for music is pretty inspiring… with some very debauched tales from the late 80s and early 90s

    Making my way through that. A good addendum to the Narcos series.

    Homegrove I’ve toyed with the idea of rereading them all again… something of an undertaking though. I assume Hollywood has been told to fuck off when it comes to adapting his work? Feels like rich pickings for an industry devoid of any creativity.

        Amps Also, @Homegrove I reckon a guide to them would be worth a read, might swerve a few and a some of the overlapping bits get lost when you’re on the 8th tome.

          Amps Amazon was going to do a Culture TV show, but it fell off. Could not think of a worse place really.

              JonQPublik Ninth House was fan-fuckin-tastic.

              She’s supposedly writing a sequel now. I’m going to reread it next. Just a great book.

                  Homegrove Yeah, massively not interested in it being a tin pot tv show full of speeches and ‘alternate’ characters. Needs to be a fuckin huge production with all the nasty shit in it.

                    Homegrove Saw that too. I welcome it. Alex is an extremely fascinating character. Such a great smartass. If Ms. Bardugo continues to write her well, she’ll be far more interesting than Katniss Everdeen.

                      Nina Simone’s Chewing Gum is a great read.

                      Next is ‘The Dope’

                        I get a real kick out of knowing I have my next 5 books lined up and ready without needing to buy them.

                          Half way through the Arnie book, cheers for the recommendation.

                          What a life, love the 20th century, easily the best time to be alive, post WW2 especially
