they really need to do and extended dark tower series and not fuck it up. the ron howard idea from way back sounded great, whereas that movie they released was an abomination.

Dubman superb book that D-man… I’ve heard a bit criticism though of his self-aggrandisement

I only bought it on the back of him popping up on LBC talking about the Russian oligarchs. I’m only a few chapters in and it does seem more like a fictional story than a non fiction

Dubman it’s a true story but he does paint a heroic version of himself… still a great book regardless

Amps I’ll have to re-read Shades of Grey before August. So many things to read this year. The final book in Ken Liu’s The Dandelion Dynasty is out this fall too, and I still haven’t read book three.

Stephen King - The Long Walk

If it was a record, it would be a single sided white label containing around six minutes of unnamed jacked up techno. More anxiety inducing than anthing I have read in a long time. Does a boss job of depicting the vaguely lucid terror of it all.

Amps love Stephen King. When I 1st started reading his books (when I was 13+) it was all about stark 70s-80s horror but some of his better efforts recently have almost been a bit sci-fi and fantasy. My faves have to be The Stand, The Dark Half, The Shining and Firestarter…..yeh I suppose one criticism may be that it’s fairly ‘basic’ but you can’t help but get drawn into his characters and that’s a testament to what he does in terms of character foreplay….you’'re invested

Amps As Hannu has said, one of his best IMO. Such a surreal premise initially, but as I’ve got older I’ve thought ‘This actually could happen ’.

I’m just about to start a book called 4 3 2 1 by Paul Auster. Not read his works before. It’s a bulky read by all accounts but I’ve heard good things

After reading both Johnny Marr’s and Bobby Gillespie’s memoirs (both superb books), I’ve started Homo Sapiens: A brief history of humankind, which is a lot more interesting than I thought it would be (so far)

Ring Shout - P Djeli Clark - 9/10 - great stuff

The Doors Of Eden - Adrian Tchaikovsky - not finished it yet but it’s all a bit meh really. Great concept but it could have been so much more. 7/10
