C_J Dubman I warned you not to buy the Monkey whisky and I’m warning you not to buy this. but go right ahead. Do as you please. And when you’re ready to drink some quality, CJ approved Scotch you can give me a shout.
Amps Homegrove No desires yet whatsoever, but I do miss the taste of Laphroaig. If you like the taste of that shite, it’s probably too late, your tastebuds and liver are dead, you may as well crack on! 😆
jonattonyeah Dubman Have you had it before? It can be quite the acquired taste unless you really like peat.
C_J Things Laphroig is good for: rounding off an expensive, five course meal along with a cigar and an open fire dressing wounds
Amps C_J Stripping paint Melting glass Poisoning large water course Invoking 3rd tier demonic entities
Dubman It keeps popping up on YouTube whiskey channels. And are always highly rated plus hardcore Hannu reckons it a good drop. That Monkey shoulder is not to bad if you add a splash of water to it.
C_J It is a good drop, mate. But it’s just not something I’d personally recommend to someone looking to dip their toe in the water, try a few drams and have a nice fun time. it’s like going straight onto crack without trying mushies and weed first imo.
Dubman C_J To be honest I just want something that’s smooth as every whiskey I’ve tried has always been very harsh. Yet I keep hearing that this or that whiskey is smooth.
Old-Dutch This is one of the best whiskeys I’ve ever had. Not sure you can get it any more but everything I’ve had from Ancnoc has been excellent https://www.masterofmalt.com/whiskies/knockdhu/ancnoc-2000-whisky/
Mad_Cyril Dubman Balvenie for me Dubbers. Doublewood or Carribean Cask. Not a big fan of anything harsh, or a sophisticated Whisky drinker so does for me.
hugopal Dubman To be honest I just want something that’s smooth as every whiskey I’ve tried has always been very harsh just switch to drinking good quality rum instead.
303abuser Mad_Cyril balvenie 12 is my go to for scotch. there’s better out there, but not much beats it at the price.
C_J Dubman To be fair to Hannu he is talking about the quarter cask edition which is a different beast to your standard 10 yr old Laphroig. What to do mate is get yourself to a decent bar and just try a few different drams. We used to kick off nights out in Aberdeen at The Grill which had about 500 different whiskies in stock.
