I’m leathered and 95% sure I have covid (again).
Whatever.
Deal with it in the morning.

Hope it’s a mild one JTY
I’ve now decided to do dry January. Got a night out planned in 2 weeks with somebody where the traditional thing is to get leathered. Will be interesting to see how that goes.
The sesh holds less and less appeal for me. Not because I don’t enjoy it, but the hangover gets worse and worse each year
Off to the Ally Pally for the darts final later.
Free bar.
I’m going all in and I’ve got work tomorrow.
Like Millsy, the word MINERALS springs to mind.
Yesterday consisted of beers, negronis and port. No dry January for me until I finish the rest of the Xmas and NY booze.
Probably won’t do dry January anyway, the pubs are nice and quiet in Jan.
However got a half marathon in March and May this year (only run one half marathon in my life), so need to cut down booze, eat healthy and get fit again.
Omicron and Self Isolation also spring to mind..or will you be sealed off from the muggles?
Any thoughts on trading beers for spirit and mixer combo in order to reduce calorie intake? Or is it all swings and roundabouts? Ive put a fair bit of timber on over the last 2 yrs and need to make some changes.
Im right into my craft beer so on a normal weekend night in i’d knock back say 6 cans, which must be over 1200 cals. Thinking of switching to say 3 GnTs which must have the same alcohol content and far less cals, no? My wife thinks if I go down that route I will just end up drinks 8 GnTs and have a drink problem. She may not be wrong……
Anyone tried similar calorie reduction tactics with success/no admission into rehab?
Run 4-5 times a week and you can eat and drink what you want and still look absolutely fantastic like me IS!

I asked a mate who is a massive boozer but also a biologist about this a while back.
He said vodka, lime and soda is probably the optimal choice in terms of low calorie while also being palatable, but it will make you piss a lot more frequently than beer - something to do with the lack of sugars compared to liquid. So basically, you may look like a bird ordering one, but you’ll definitely look like a bird when you’re going to piss at double the rate of your mates.
i lost quite a bit of weight shifting from wine/beer to g&t’s with slim line tonic. i found that by the time i had got to the third one, i hated the drink and did not want anymore. no way near as satisfying as beer or wine but found it really hard to have many which help loads in loosing weight
To be honest, I don’t know how tonic water is even a popular thing.
It pretty much only became popular because it was useful to drink in hot climates where the quinine is a natural mosquito repellant. Thus, the choice of the British officer class who then brought it home to Blighty.
In the fucking plant pot with that foul shite.
Dave.
Two words.
Fever Tree.
Absobloodylutely, they are tremenballs!
I expect your favourite is the one with ‘floral botanicals’.
You MINCING CUNT.
Lol, naturally light tonic water for me Dave.
Gives me a real spring in my step!
Ed bursting into tears shortly after drinking his first, because the curtains are so beautiful.
