Dave's Classic Commercial CD Listening Club
Phil-McRackin I saw Healy wipe his coke and snot encrusted nose with a towel and then throw it into the crowd at Sugar Shack. I imagine someone has a shoebox at home with a septum stained beer towel they bring out at parties.
Bit like Sean and Matty Hollandās shorts.
He looks like he lives in a shack by the beach, think I saw him in the film āBaitā
hugopal ok, though the same criteria could have also been applied to āHappiness Happening (Lange Remix)ā.
It was just intended as a talking point (like this) really, or to encourage people to check out a mix they may not know of.
I will be posting mixes that are heavy on the cheese in this thread. With a smattering of respectable choons thrown in as well. Expect that to be reflected in the selection of mixes and tunes.

Is this a guilty pleasures thread? Letās be honest, who didnāt love Energy 52 (three in one), Y traxx, for an angel and binary finary the first few times they heard them in a club. Massive moments when you are a young clubber. When you compare these formative tunes to Calvin Harris and Avicii for todayās kids, you know you were in the right place at the right time
Whilst Dave was hugging strangers listening to Armin Van Buuren and other such monstrosities at Godskitchen, the cool kids were listening to Layo & Bushwacka and the like at The End.
jonattonyeah Over/under how many times Trisco was played at The End.
Iām going withā¦.6
Little known fact, every Dj who ever played at The End had to play Trisco at least once at set.
It was written into their contract.
I wasnāt being serious chief.
Whatās Bosstrabs favourite colour?
Mediocre.
It was played. It just sounded different and had another name.
jonattonyeah far too cheesy for the End.
Trisco isnāt a song.
Itās a movement and a way of seeing the world.

Riscot - Sakmu.

jonattonyeah The best-known event associated with Trisco is arguably Mark David Chapmanās shooting of John Lennon. Chapman identified with the power house prog track to the extent that he wanted to change his name to Wonderland Avenue.
Rumor has it Sparks āTryouts for the Human Raceā is actually a Trisco ripoff despite it being released decades earlier. Cannot confirm but it passes the eye test.
This weekās instalment, Cream Anthems mixed by the poor manās Sasha and Digweed, who seemed to be inseparable around this time, often going arse-to-arse on a double-ender at Godskitchen or The Gallery.
Probably dragged in to do the Cream mixes due to Sebās impending (and largely disappointing to many) residency.
Interesting fact: Music Sounds Better With You appeared on this because when it went massive, Bangalter apparently insisted on two mixes of it appearing on mix CDs or he wouldnāt allow it at all (thus doubling his royalties).
Standout tracks:
Tall Paul mix:
Cevin Fisherās Big Freak - The Freaks Come Out (Original Mix)
Stardust - Music Sounds Better With You (Original Mix)
Robbie Rivera - The Ultimate Disco Groove
These are bona fide house classics that still sound great (IMO)
Seb Fontaine mix:
Actually nothing, itās a truly horrible mix of big room tunes that had already been totally overplayed at this point. Tune in, though, for the overblown histrionic vocals of Lucid - I Canāt Help Myself and the utterly cheesy line in Radical Playaz - The Hook (Daveās Rubber Dub Mix): āI want you to go out there and⦠DANCE! OKAY???ā
I will not be listening to either of those Dave though I do appreciate the effort youāre putting in.
Cheers.
Ed
I am listening to them so you donāt have to Ed.
really dont think i listened to either of these the first time round. does have wizards of the sonic on the tall paul mix
bloody hate ayla
Never quite got how Rampling played an hour straight up US House and then cranked it up to 140bpm with that Goa gibberish.
