My original point though, was that this is very different from the dynamic created by an entire set of back-to-back ‘classics’.

I know what you mean mate. I went to a manor classics night a few years back. All the tunes were awesome but I deffo missed the ‘what is this tune’ feeling, no real peaks or troughs in the night. Once you’ve heard Xpander at 12.15 where do you go from there?

Was a good for a laugh but no match for a decent night out.

Anyone have a clue what the version of ‘Be Yourself’ is at the start of his interview? Never heard it before.

Which of those two tracks have that kind of high cowbell sound which can be heard clearly in the first 15 seconds, sounding 3 hits per bar ‘…tik-tik-tik’? And where?…

Also, how does it seem like just half the bass notes for ‘Be Yourself’ are missing? is he really repeatedly flipping the bass knob up and down on every beat?

There are FX or automation that can cover that off easily.
