Zack, my hugely limited take on things would suggest one step at a time. By the looks of it, bernie as commander in chief is never going to happen. Does that stop the dems and america in general taking gradual steps towards a more progressive, slightly left leaning society over the coming years? No it doesn’t. Surely after the don, the dems will have a run in office for a few years. It’s not an all or nothing scenario, surely? Maybe joe isn’t the greatest thing since sliced bread but he’s a significant improvement on his predecessor, whilst also having a properly qualified team behind him!
