Enjoyed that guys. Good crack!
@Matt if I’m late it’s always some link in the chain breaking down.. I love doing these but the stress in the run up is mad on your own. It’s been made more complicated by our internet deciding to suck and the streaming laptop capable of decent graphics having something wrong with it.
So we now have in the chain:
Two cameras > Windows Laptop with (Nvidia Graphics) > NDI linked via ethernet to an iMac receiving to another OBS > which also takes in the audio from the sound card at a delayed rate to the video from Windows (hence the clap test) > iMac connects to the internet via Personal Hotspot on 4G which it sends the stream down.
That’s before squaring up OBS software, cameras, refresh rates, brightnesses on all devices etc so everything looks half decent.
If the Windows laptop would behave like it is connected at the upload speed we really have (8mb instead of 1mb), I could do all of that in one Windows device and just use the 50 metre ethernet cable back to the house like I was in October/November.
Something with Windows 10 updates has knacked the internet up as the Macs perform OK but can’t handle graphics like Windows Nvidia cards can.
It’s a chew on but is totally worth it and the challenge fills in a lot of time (too much if you ask Sophie..)
