My mate just spanked an absolute fortune on doing this set of upgrades in his own home. He used to run Promise in Newcastle at Foundation and decided to get involved.

3 hours of vinyl classics.

NasserAlazzawi How did he spank his money? Investing in the vinyl? And why did he crash a vocal as soon as I tuned in? šŸ˜†

The mixer/livestreaming/camera equipment was not cheap!

He’s been live the whole time here?

If buffering, go into settings and turn off low latency mode. He’s sending a high quality / high bitrate stream so some broadband connections may need more time between you and the session.

Makes me want to get the 1210s out of storage. Playing records is so much more satisfying than digital.

This guy used to spend 2 hours warming up for Joof and loads of early 2000’s Prog/Trance DJs. I went for Trance and fell in love with Prog because of him.

Matt nice mate! Part of me really wishes I had arrived about 4 years earlier to see the late 90s in. I saw this largely 2002-2005

This has been decent. Haven’t a clue who he is but fair play to him.

Yeah, nice to hear a load of classic bangers…breeder, evolution, belfunk

Nice one for jumping in guys. I’m glad you enjoyed it.

@Amps I totally misread what you said earlier mate, I read it as ā€œwhy did he crash as soon as I tuned inā€ thinking your viewing had stopped.

Vocals are a funny one for me, I generally avoid them but done a certain way I’ll take the occasional sample. The stuff in the early 2000s didn’t have much but when it did, the local scene was generally down for it. It seemed to have just the right amount for most but I know some folk who just never gel with it.

No vocals in a set? Jesus

        Prob get more listeners

Along_the_Wire Probably. I do miss playing vinyl. When I see a DJ play a vinyl set on these days, I can’t help feel that the digital DJing experience just lacks, in comparison.

I’d be surprised if a lot of us who started out playing records didn’t feel the same way.

Matt Agreed, I like watching how diff jocks work the vinyl, the less touching the record the better imo.

            LT42

Still haven’t mastered that yet. It’s much harder than using the fingers.

Dubman I watched a DJ called Gemini one time and he never touched the record once it was on the deck, just the pitch control. I didn’t get it at first but when I tried it myself I found it easier to lock the exact speeds, you just had to master the timing of the release then when queuing. Afterward whenever I’d see a DJ constantly pushing and pulling it looked naff and didn’t feel like they had total control. Horses for course though.

If you didn’t learn how to mix on a pair of belt-drives you’re an amateur. šŸ˜…

SM001 I learnt the hard way with a Faderfox and Ableton, then moved onto Traktor with an A&H Xone 3 and a sync button to the XDJ XZ and avoiding the sync button apart from car-crash rescue. So don’t come on here telling me I’m an amateur.

Along_the_Wire In fairness I haven’t DJ’d in nearly 15 years so know nothing of the pains of digital mixing. šŸ˜
