          It does look well nice I must say. Mine sounds like an old boiler room from 70’s when it heats up.
          Does the coffee taste any better from the new machine.

            What grinder are you using Jules?

              It does taste better but that could be something to do with not descaled my rocket ever (no idea)… the foam is also way smoother…

              Old-Dutch an old Eureka mignon which needs a good clean - would think a new grinder might help the taste because there’s load of stale coffee oils throughout the machine .. would probably buy one of these again no problem

                Cool - I’ve got my eye on a new single-doser the Solo which Bella Barista have just opened up pre-orders for. The Sage Smart Grinder Pro does a job, but think this will be much better. Can still sell the SGP for £150 or so, which is only £50 less than what I paid for it.

                    It’s very new - flat burrs. I’ve been considering a Niche for a while now, but then this has just been released and comes in at £100 less than a Niche and without the months waiting on it.

                    Seems like it is the best bang for buck flat burr single dosing grinder on the market - virtually zero retention as you can pump the grinds through the chute with the bellows at the top.

                        Dan nah the margins in selling coffee are tiny…. the only way they really make money is by selling food. And it’s bloody hard work.

                          I watched a video earlier of a guy reviewing coffee grinders that cost upto $3000 he also reviewed some that cost upto £50. He reckoned some we’re undrinkable.

                            Yeah there’s a very well respected machine reviewer on that Coffee Forum UK who has been testing the Solo I’m looking at for a few months now. He’s making very positive noises about it so I’m fairly confident it’s the teal deal.

                            Not many on there rate the grinder I have so I’m expecting a massive improvement on the coffee with the new grinder.

                            It’s opened my eyes a little to the world of coffee tasting. It does come across as very snobby. My hole machine cost less than £200 and it does make a good cup of coffee compared to some coffee shops.

                            Lol yes mate for sure. It’s definitely a rabbit hole.

                              Am looking into getting a new grinder ((I currently have a blade one, which now realise isn’t great). Anyone have experience of manual burr grinders? Am thinking of this route as much cheaper than electric, and I only ever do coffee for one, so seems like could be a decent option to start with. Saves going to the gym too
