A black eye, baby dolphins and the used coffee being good for the garden are sure fire winners here fellas.
What would I ever do without you all?

Old-Dutch lol…and I haven’t cleaned my grindr in 6 years… I flush out my machine every 2-3 weeks (most weekdays I just have one coffee before leaving the house) and that’s it. And I still make better coffees than most independent shops. Most important for me is choice of bean and getting the 35 odd seconds of espresso pour right (having adjusted the grind)… plus the milk frothing obvs - easy to mess that up.
Little doubt in my mind that it’s worth going for a bean to cup machine (vs automatic pods)… that’s most noticeable for milk based coffees, which are crap when coming out of automatic machines imo
Oh yes used coffee also repels slugs and snails so that’s a doosie. A very ethical way to deal with them instead of needlessly murdering them
Had to google what it meant when Zackster first used it.
Quite widely used in Scotland, I thought Dave - which is why I used it.

Granto - am I talking out of my hoop as usual?
Lads, nobody has picked up on the fact that jules phone autocorrected grinder to grindr. Hmmm. The constant pics of his “dates” is starting to make sense now…
Old-Dutch If I said something was a douzie to my dad or brothers, I’d expect some broken glass in my neck and jaw area.
Lol fair enough - guilty as charged.
I’ve heard Kevin Bridges use it a couple of times and thought it may have been a thing.
Does this make me Loopy?
Lol - perhaps the whole post is a euphemism?
The best advice I can give is to not overthink it.
First decide on a machine. Do you want a pod machine, a bean to cup, a thermojet system, a machine with PID temperature control, a single boiler, a dual boiler, a heat exchange machine a prosumer machine or a lever machine.
Then decide on a grinder. Do you want a hand grinder, a blade grinder, a conical burr grinder, a flat burr grinder, a single doser or a hopper fed grinder, a stepped or stepless grinder, a grinder with a timer function or saving settings, or a commercial grinder.
Then what beans you want. Do you want light roast, dark roast, single origin, blended, organic, semi-decaffeinated, fully decaffeinated, washed or natural.
Once you’ve decided you’re good to go.
Don’t think Si’s got the capacity to overthink anything.
Morbid fascination?
You guys!
Looking for a bit of advice here lads.
My Mrs wants a Coffee machine. Neither of us are massive Coffee drinkers so aren’t really clued up on the subject. She’s been looking at those ones that take the little capsules. Are these any good? if so, are there any that you lot would recommend? cheers
