Simply because the cut-and-thrust of the daily bants amuses me.

Looking for a bit of advice here lads.

My Mrs wants a Coffee machine. Neither of us are massive Coffee drinkers so aren’t really clued up on the subject. She’s been looking at those ones that take the little capsules. Are these any good? if so, are there any that you lot would recommend? cheers

Matt they’re really good if you’re doing a serious, peer reviewed analysis of how to make high quality coffee beans taste like shit.

bosstrabs Are they that bad? or just shit compared to one of those machines that cost a small fortune? I don’t mind shelling out for decent stuff when it’s going to be used, I know this fucking Coffee machine she’s decided she wants will probably see minimal use though.

If anyone can recommend an Entry-level coffee machine that isn’t shit It would be much appreciated.

Matt Personally, I would go for a French Press and spend the money left over on excellent coffee every time, rather than a pod machine.

I appreciate that your missus may want a machine for the aesthetic qualities and because women like to buy such things, though, and you won’t really have a choice in the matter.

I’ve got a Delonghi bean to cup machine that cost me less than £300. It does make good coffee but you could spend so much more. I’ve only had those coffee pods in customers houses and some of them have been pretty good.

Exactly. It’s pissing me off that I’m being made to look into this shit when I’m not remotely interested in it and won’t use it. I’m verging on just ordering her a year’s supply of Mellow Birds and a massive dildo.

            Matt
It’s a Delonghi caffe corso. I’ve had for a good few years now so I reckon they’ve upgraded the machine now.

Agree with Dave on the French press.

Hahahaha. Having said I have had my head turned by a new machine and with Sunday’s winnings it’s paid for but no way I’m risking it so close to getting the new grinder. She’d have my balls on a pole on the front drive lol

Hi Matt. I went on the same journey as these nice lads back in 2013. What I can tell you is that those little capsule machines are better than any “proper” machine under a grand; more consistent, quicker and much less of a ballache generally. The only real downside is the baby dolphins.

Get yourself a decent nespresso machine for £150 imo unless you have a spare bag of sand and plenty of spare time.

C_J yeah, that’s just not true though is it. You get a much nicer cup of coffee from a bean to cup machine than a pod machine.
