…absolute score on eBay, made a low-ball offer on a Sage Barista Express to an authorised reseller and got knocked back, then sneaked a late bid on a reconditioned machine from the same seller for less than my original offer, ended up paying £140 for a £500+ machine.
Was prepared for the condition to be a bit ropey but honestly looks pretty great… given it a proper descale/backflush, new filter etc. have upgraded to an IMS basket and been spending the last week or so dialling it in. Not got it 100% yet and am burning beans at an expensive rate in the process, but already infinitely better coffee than I’ve ever been able to make at home.
Need to find a decent delivery service or a local coffee roaster…
