Hi mate, there are a few things I noticed straight away
- poor build quality, flimsy parts
- one of the two I had a go on was evidently just not working / scrolling and a couple of buttons had stopped working (at this point, it had been out 1 year)
- the features that are on this, if you liked them, cannot be replicated on any other devices - so you turn up to a club and its not there (along the groove circuit, drums section)
- DDJ-grv6 is powered by a brick / adaptor and does not have the proper audio outputs like XLR around the back like the better units do
It looked pretty mint on the reviews for the price point as well - I was surprised
In terms of other units that are good value, the FLX10 and DDJ-1000 are much more sturdy, well designed for heavy use (I even see a lot of Wedding DJs use these weekly) - and studyness is even more apparenty with XDJ-XZ / AZ. Opus quad could be an option but it depends how you DJ (its ideal for wedding/bar and mobile DJing where image plays a part in your brand and it is subject to personal taste - I know a few who love those units).
I was also disappointed with the original Prime 4 (not tried the +) - I DJ’d on a P4 daily 6 days a week 6-8 hour sets for a season in Spring / Summer / Autumn 2023. Whilst it is packed with cool features, wifi, streaming and extra XLR ports and loads of USB ports, on the basic DJing reliability side simple things were breaking all the time in daily use (new unit) which the XZ would never break.
It would stop the music and restart the system at random causing strange looks (regardless of who’s USB was int it) and Cue / Play button were fucked refusing to work at random causing you to have to use Hot Cues as play, as were other buttons, knobs readily fell off when not abusing them, and these kinds of problems are quite common not too far down the line.
Pioneer top line kit you might (might) get a cue button need servicing after 4-8 years of hard club usage but not inside year 1.
Denon may have fixed the cause of these issues in the Prime4+ but I would never buy an original Prime 4 for heavy repeat use in terms of set up / take down type DJing.
