Unbroken1 Honestly can’t think of a scenario where I’d want this, unless you were a commercial DJ that didn’t have access to something the crowd has asked for
This. I DJ’d a few weddings in Cyprus where I’d pay for a month’s Tidal subscription in case I got requests for music I didn’t have locally and it came in handy.
We are all a lot older than the generation who are coming into DJing now though - many of them have spent years making a streaming collection on (.. Beatport, Tidal, Soundcloud Go etc) and they specifically want access to their libraries.
Wifi isn’t something I would personally rely on in a professional gig but having it available for a wider collection would be a cool option personally. For the younger generation though they may want their entire set on it and to take that risk - which most of the time will work well.
The CDJ-3000 has the ability to stream over ethernet but the uptake was poor because clubs simply didn’t have their Router in or linked to the club booth by cable and Wifi would have been fine.
